The Flicka Gymnastics Club was
formed in 1962 by Louise Hemingway and her husband John. Louise Hemmingway represented Canada as the
1960 Olympic Games in Rome. During the intervening period, Flicka has developed a tradition of excellence
in instruction at all levels and continues to produce excellent gymnasts who compete at all levels.
Since then the club has grown from two gymnasts to an incredible 1,900 athletes.
The Club, located at the North Vancouver Recreation Center Gymnastics Centre, offers both competitive and
recreational programs and has given gymnastics a high profile in the local community, in British Columbia and Canada. Flicka operates
seven days a week and is open twelve hours each day. It offers a large variety of programs for boys, girls and adults. These programs
include kindergym, recreational, special needs and competitive classes. Our classes encompass youngsters from the age of two enrolled
in parent and tot classes, through seniors who want to improve their flexibility and strength.
The Flicka Gym Club's goal is to enable every gymnast to train and compete at a realistic and achievable level
of personal success in order to promote self confidence and a lasting enjoyment of the sport of gymnastics that will benefit the gymnasts
throughout their lives. Flicka inspires its gymnasts to be the best that they can be and to meet their personal goals and commitments.
The Flicka Gym Club's mandate is to provide the facility, the equipment and the coaching necessary to achieve excellence at all
competitive levels at a reasonable cost to the members.

Flicka Gymnastics Club, being a non-profit organization, receives income from a limited number of sources.
Each year brings the challenge of generating additional income to provide our gymnasts with the highest level of coaching and equipment
to allow them to compete at an elite level. The sponsorship programs developed by Flicka are an important component of the club
finances. For more information on the club finances and sponsorship programs please follow the sponsor programs or click here. |
