Flicka Gymnastics Club

Club Structure

    The Flicka Gymnastics Club is a non-profit society and operates under the direction of a volunteer board of directors. It is governed by the British Columbia Society Act, its constitution and bylaws, as amended from time to time.
    The constitution and bylaws of the Flicka Gymnastics Club are available for perusal in the office and a member of the Club can obtain a copy upon request.

Board of Directors
    The Board of Directors is elected at the Annual General Meeting which normally takes place at the end of the training year. The responsibility of the Board of Directors is to ensure, through a limited number of elected members, that the Club programs function effectively and safely, in a financially sound manner, in order to fulfil the mandate of the Club and reach its goals.
    Board members meet at least once a month. A member can request that an item be placed on the agenda of a board meeting and can attend any board meeting, provided a request is made to the secretary prior to the meeting.

Executive Positions
The Board of Directors executive positions are as follows:
President:Responsible for overseeing the activities of all Board membersand the Club in general.
Vice President:Assistant to the President and responsible for additional committee portfolios as required.
Treasurer:Responsible for monitoring and reporting the financial activities of the Club and additional committee portfolios as required.
Secretary:Responsible for maintaining the official records of the Club, reporting and recording the activities of the Board, external communications, and additional committee portfolios as required.
Directors at Large:Responsible for various committee portfolios to ensure the effective management of the Club.

Club Staff
Technical Director:Responsible to the Board for the overall direction and administration of the competitive and pre-competitive program, recreational program and Kindergym program. In coordination with the Competitive Head Coach, responsible for hiring and training of all competitive staff, placement of all pre-competitive and competitive gymnasts and team selection, and scheduling of all training in the gym.

Girls Competitive Head Coach:Responsible to the Technical Director and to the Board for the technical administration of the competitive and pre-competitive program; responsible for liaison with parents of competitive and pre-competitive gymnasts and implementing training guidelines, travel rules, etc. At present, the Girls Competitive Head Coach and Technical Director staff positions are filled by a single individual.

Boys Competitive Program Coordinator:Responsible to the Technical Director and to the Board for the technical administration of the boys pre-competitive program; responsible for liaison with parents of pre-competitive male gymnasts and implementing training guidelines for this program.

Competitive Coaches:Responsible to the Technical Director and Program Coordinators, for providing quality gymnastics training in the competitive programs within established guidelines and for reporting on gymnasts' performance, and communicating with gymnasts' parents.

Recreational Coordinator:Responsible to the Technical Director and to the Board for the overall administration of the recreational gymnastics program for children aged 6 to teenage and for the adult and other special recreational programs; responsible for staffing and scheduling of the Recreational Program and all reporting and communicating with recreational parents; responsible for Interclub program; responsible for performance review of all Recreational staff.

Kindergym Coordinator
:Responsible to the Technical Director and to the Board for the overall administration of the Kindergym recreational gymnastics program for children ages 2 to 6, including Parent and Tot program; responsible for lesson planning, themes, and progression; responsible for staffing and scheduling of the Kindergym Program and all reporting and communicating with Kindergym parents; responsible for performance review of all Kindergym staff.

Recreational Coaches:Responsible to their respective Program Coordinator for overseeing and coaching the recreational programs, including reporting to and liaison with parents, insuring safety guidelines are met and supervising the junior coaches.

Club Administrator:The Club Administrator oversees all aspects of the administration of the Club and reports directly to the Board of Directors.
     Duties include: club correspondence and records, collection of fees, maintenance of financial records, registration for competitive meets, registration for all programs, club payroll, information and public relations, filing of safety and injury reports.
