Coaches expect a 100% commitment to training
hours of 18 to 20 hours per week. In exchange for the participant's effort, the program will provide:
- A safe and well equipped facility
- Physical testing (1 to 2 times per year)
- Qualified coaches of at least Level III National Coaching certified
- 6 to 7 competitions per year - Normally all will be fairly local with the possibility of out of town
meets (potential greater cost)
- Year-end show and inclusion in club displays
- Ideal coach to athlete ratio of 1:5 to a maximum of 1:8
- Program focus: physical preparation, maintaining basics, technical and psychological preparation, artistic performance and prparation, mastering of complex skills and the adherence to an individual training plan. Highlights include trials to Provincial Championships, Provincial Championships, BC Selects team, Western Canadian Championships and Flicka Invitational competitions.
