Coaches expect a 100% commitment to training
hours of 25 hours per week. In exchange for the participant's effort, the program will provide:
- A safe and well equipped facility
- Physical testing (2 times per year)
- Qualified coaches of at least Level III National Coaching certified
- Local competitions and out of province competitions with a greater cost
- Year-end show and inclusion in club displays
- Ideal coach to athlete ratio of 1:4 to a maximum of 1:6
- Training camps with athletes from other clubs
- Program focus: physical preparation, maintaining basics, technical and psychological preparation, artistic performance and preparation, high intensity and immense volume of training to strive for excellence (in order to be competitive on a National level), mastering of complex skills and the a dherence to an individual training plan. Highlights include trials to Provincial Championships, Provincial Championships, BC Best Team (usually a USA competition), Western Canadian Championships, Nationals, Flicka Invitational competitions and potential access to B.C.'s athlete assistance funds.
