Coaches expect a 100% commitment to training
hours of 25 hours per week. In exchange for the participant's effort, the program will provide:
- A safe and well equipped facility
- Physical testing (2 times per year)
- Qualified coaches of at least Level IV National Coaching Certified (or equivalent)
- Local competitions and out of province/country competitions with a greater cost
- Year-end show and inclusion in club displays
- Ideal coach to athlete ratio of 1:4 to a maximum of 1:6
- Training camps with athletes from other clubs
- Program focus: physical preparation, maintaining basics, technical and psychological preparation,
artistic performance and preparation, high intensity and immense volume of training to strive for
excellence (in order to be competitive on a National level), mastering of extremely difficult skills,
striving for absolute perfection in all areas of the sport and the adherence to an individual training
plan. Highlights include out of country competitions and training camps, Elite Canada and Nationals,
potential access to Sport Canada and B.C.G.A. athlete assistance funds, media attention, sponsorships
and selection for international assignments to represent Canada - including both World Championships
and Olympics.
