Barb Vadovicova-Fong
Kindergym and Recreational Director
Barbara was born in Slovakia and was a member of Slovak National team for more than 10 years in three different sports, Artistic Gymnastics, Acrobatic Rock and Roll and Gymnastics Aerobics, Barb obtained her Masters degree in Physical Education and Sport in 1995 from Comenius University in Slovakia and later obtained her doctorate degree in the field of Kinanthropology - Sport Biomechanics (Artistic Gymnastics specialization) in 2001. Barb coached National gymnasts in Rekyavik, Iceland before moving to Canada in 2001. She has been with Flicka since 2005 and is the heart and soul of our Recreation and Kindergym programs.
Vasi Cosariu
Vasi has been with Flicka since 1994 and has helped in coaching many of Flicka's most successful gymnasts. Born in Romania, Vasi had a very successful career as a competitive gymnast, capturing National Junior and Senior titles as well as being an Olympian many times. Vasi attended various educational institutes in Romania and is highly qualified as a coach, teacher and chemical engineer.
Doina Cosariu
Born in Romania, Doina is a former gymnast herself. She received her training in Bucharest, Romania. Doina joined Flicka in 1999 and is both a well-loved Kindergym coach and a competitive coach. Many gymnasts have fond memories of being in Doina's class!
Rozita
Rozita trained and competed as a gymnast in Iran. She has a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Sport Science from Azad University in Tehran. Rozita is passionate about gymnastics and enjoys sharing that with her gymnasts.
Angie Walker
Angie was a Flicka gymnast and competed at the National and High Performance levels. She is also a judge. As a past gymnast, Angie feels she understands her athletes' struggles and successes. She has a true love of the sport and wants to stay involved in as many ways as possible.
Adrienne Cafe
Adrienne has been involved in gymnastics for most of her life. She loves coaching because she loves the sport and enjoys helping others achieve their goals.
Brittany Stansfield
Brittany was a Flicka gymnast when she was younger. She enjoys coaching because she likes teaching kids all about gymnastics. She plans to attend Capilano University to study business.
Susy Lamb
Susy is a former high school level gymnast who trained at Flicka. She is in the 4th year of her Psychology degree at UBC and enjoys working with kids.
Ivana Gondekova
Ivana is originally from Slovakia and has attended university in both Slovakia and Canada. She has been working with children for the past 10 years and enjoys inspiring her gymnasts and passing on her knowledge.
Karolina Kanios
Karolina is a former Flicka gymnast who still enjoys learning new skills! She is currently finishing high school and enjoys helping her gymnasts have fun and learn new things.
Kristy Inouye
Kristy is a former Flicka gymnast who competed at the National level. She is currently in her last year at high school. Kristy enjoys coaching as it allows her to maintain her connection with the sport and teach other kids all about something that was such a big part of her life.
