Recreational FAQ

Q: If we are new to the gym, how do we know which level to put our child in?
A: The Recreational Program is organized by both age and ability. If you are unsure of your child's level, please speak to the office staff or the Recreational Director, Barb Vadovicova-Fong.

Q: What should my child wear to gymnastics class?
A: Female gymnasts are required to wear a gymnastics leotard. They can also wear stretchy shorts if they like. Male gymnasts are required to wear close-fitting shorts and a t-shirt. Long hair must be tied back in a pony tail or braid. Athletes should not wear jewellery or watches and should be in bare feet.

Q: Where can I get a gymnastics leotard for my daughter?
A: The Flicka office always has a wide range of attractive new and used leotards. Stop by and have a look!

Q: If I have a question or concern what I should do?
A: You can talk directly to the coach or if you wish to speak to the Kindergym Coordinator, please ask to speak to Barb Vadovicova-Fong, email info@flickagymnastics.com or call the office at (604)-985-7918. We appreciate feedback!

Q: My child wants to move from Recreational to Competitive gymnastics. Who do I speak with?
A: Admittance to the Competitive Program is by invitation. Recreational coaches will often refer gymnasts to the Head Coaches of the Boys and Girls Competitive Teams. If you think your child might have the potential for competitive gymnastics, speak to their coach first. If they agree, a referral will be made.
