Xcel Program

Gymnastics BC introduced the USAG Xcel Competitive Program in our province September 2020. This program bridges the gap between the Gymnastics For All, Interclub and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics JO programs. The Xcel program is an alternative competitive program offering flexibility to coaches and gymnasts. Its goal is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels with the opportunity for a rewarding gymnastics experience under more relaxed circumstances. The Xcel program also provides a robust and consistent scoring system that is easier to comprehend and follow.

The program runs from September to June. Participation is by invitation only after successful assessment by the Head Coach.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are currently unable to accept athletes into this program.

Interclub Program

The Interclub Program strives to provide an opportunity for every athlete to achieve their full potential in the sport of gymnastics and develop a lifelong love for Gymnastics, physical activity, and performance.

Our purpose is to support each gymnast in reaching their potential in a positive team environment where coaches encourage them to be the best they can be by having them set personal goals and work towards achieving success throughout the year at training and local performance events.

Our Coaches strive to be positive role models and to bring out the best in each individual within the realms of physical, mental, emotional and social development. Safety, fun and skill acquisition are the main components of the Interclub Program and our Coaches strive to provide a positive learning environment based on these.

The B.C. Interclub Program is performance based and is meant to focus on the opportunity to perform rather than the skill requirements of the routine. Athletes are given creative license in routine development and work alongside coaches to prepare routines. Athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their personal ability without the pressure of being ranked or having scores displayed in events throughout the year. There will be more competitive opportunities offered to athletes placed in the more advanced training groups.

The interclub Program is designed for athletes who are committed to training twice a week or more, who enjoy competing and performing, and who have a keen interest in learning more advanced gymnastics skills.

Entry into the Interclub Program is by assessment and invitation only.
